What does UCAT stand for?
UCAT is the UChicago Card and Account Tool; it is a web-based application. The Prefeed is one aspect of this application that allows a university employee to be "pre-fed" into the MCDB, prior to the UC Human Resources feed. This account can be entered or maintained in the university's central person registery (MCDB) so that services can be tracked.
What does MCDB stand for?
MCDB = the Master Constituency DataBase; it is a the UC central person registery
Does every new employee need to be entered into UCAT Human Resources-Prefeed?
No, only if the incoming employee needs to have a CNetID on their initial start date.
When will the Pre-Feed record expire?
The maximum expiration is 1 year, but typically the regular Human Resources feed will begin to include the incoming person long before that.
Who can access UCAT Human Resources Pre-Feed?
UC Human Resouces determines who has approval to receive access to this app. Human Resources satelite office personnel who need to create and maintain Pre-Feed records are the intended audience. After an approved person completes training, s/he can access the app. NOTE: Only full-time non-student staff may be authorized.
Who can I contact re support of the UCAT interace?

Should part-time and Temporary employees who are not benefits eligible be able to be entered into the Pre-Feed?
Yes, part-time and Temporary staff may be entered into UCAT-Pre-Feed, as needed (if they need to claim a CNetID or other allowed university serviecs prior to their entry by Human Resources).
Are part-time and Temporary employees able to receive a UChicago Card?
Although part-time and Temporary staff may be entered into UCAT Human Resources-Pre-Feed, they are not eligible for a UChicago Card. They are eligible for the Campus Card.
How can I note that an employee is part-time or a Temporary employee?
You can note that in the UCAT Pre-Feed Comments field.
What do I do after I have added an employee?
Upon successful completion of an ‘add’ you will see a message informing you the person has been added to the pre-feed, as well as the ChicagoID that has been generated. Send this information to the new employee so they can claim their CNetID online.
What do I do if the data is not correct?
Contact your Human Resources rep with any corrections.
What do I do if the person is no longer coming to the University?
